As the season shifts and a new rhythm begins, there’s a familiar stirring in our hearts — a fresh sense of expectancy as we envision a future that is prosperous and well. We long to see it all come together — the plans, the provision, the peace. Planning is good. Dreaming is good. But surrender is better. So as we set new goals and intentions for this season, let the words of Jesus anchor our desires: “not my will but yours.”

Surrender In The Garden
The time had arrived. Jesus had spent three years in public ministry — teaching, healing, gathering, and spreading the good news. Now, as He made His way to Jerusalem, it was time for Him to suffer. Filled with anguish for what He would soon endure, He turned to the Father and prayed. Jesus, fully God yet fully man, suffered the unimaginable. It was beyond gruesome, reprehensible, and far more painful than my mind could ever perceive. And He did so, willingly.
Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice for us so that we could live. Therefore, our lives are not our own. Honestly, they never were. We were made in God’s image for His glory and to fulfill His purposes. When we understand and accept the weight of the cross and our identity in the Lord, we live differently. We dream differently, and we envision differently. We strive differently, because we live for God. Our submission and surrender are rooted in our obedience to the Father. We lay down every worldly desire in favor of the desires of the Kingdom.
This season, as you set new goals and step into what’s ahead, posture your heart like Christ’s — “not my will, but yours.” Allow God to take His rightful place in your life. Allow Him to lead you.
